Drake is 14 weeks old! We can’t believe how the time flies and how big our little girl is getting!
Over the last several weeks, Drake has really mastered the “sit” command. She sits on her own before receiving treats, entering the house or other buildings, crossing the street and being petted.
In addition to learning the basics, Drake receives extra socialization and desensitization whenever possible. Her ability to be comfortable with various different sights, sounds, people, animals and environments will be very important once she begins advanced obedience training in a few months.
Drake also came to see us for her first puppy wellness exam this week. We all fell in love with her and bonded to her immediately. She has such a mature presence, as if she knows already that her job will be a very, very important one!
During the exam, Dr. Drake looked in Drake’s eyes, ears and mouth, listened to her heart and lungs and palpated her entire body. She also checked for tooth eruption, cleft palate, eye abnormalities, ear conformation, ectoparasites such as fleas and ticks, umbilical hernia, heart murmur and urogenital pathology.
The diagnosis? She’s a perfectly happy, healthy puppy!
See you in four weeks!
