We are sad to announce that Dr. Moore will be leaving The Drake Center at the end of this month. Her last day in the office will be Saturday, February 28.
Following Dr. Moore’s departure, Dr. Smolley will move into a full-time position at our practice.
To my friends and family at The Drake Center,
The time has come to say goodbye to everyone who has made me smile here over the last eight years. I will be leaving The Drake Center at the end of February and heading to Austin, Texas.
This move will bring us closer to family, which is the biggest reason for this decision, but I leave with mixed emotions. I hope I can put into words how much my Drake Center family has meant to me!
Starting work here after my vet school internship in 2007 was such a blessing! I could not have been surrounded by more compassionate, supportive, knowledgeable, good humans. Not only my coworkers, I’m talking about clients, too!
I’ve gotten to know and become friends with so many of you over the years as we’ve watched your four-legged kids grow. Your pets are part of our family, they’re so important to us and have truly warmed my heart! I love what I get to do every day!
I truly feel lucky and will take a piece of this special place with me.
I will be joining a former colleague of mine in Austin at her clinic, and again, I’ve lucked out because it’s a top notch practice — quality medicine with a passionate and skilled staff. Sounds a lot like The Drake Center to me! Now to just get my accent back — I think it won’t take long!
I will miss you all. Please give your furry friends an extra snuggle for me.
I am so sad to say goodbye.
All my best,
Dr. Moore
